Born in Heilongjiang Province, China. Graduated from Daqing No.7 Middle School in Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province in 1980, Tian is a self-taught freelance photographer living in Beijing. Tian is also known as “Lao Liu”, which means the sixth child as he was born the sixth in his family. Exploring humanity, philosophy and social issues with his unique visual language, Tian Yibin is very active in Chinese contemporary photographic art.
