Masato Yamaguchi (born 1980 in Tokyo) is a contemporary artist who explores the complexities of society through multimedia creations. After obtaining a master's degree from Tokyo University of the Arts, his works have been exhibited in galleries in Tokyo, New York, London, and participated in numerous international art fairs. His work includes painting, installation art, and video, blending traditional Japanese art with contemporary culture, showcasing a unique visual style, particularly in color and composition. Influenced by the "Shibuya-style graffiti" movement in Tokyo in the 1990s, Yamaguchi began his career as a graphic designer before transitioning to an artist. His creations often incorporate anime styles, depicting girls taking selfies with smartphones, reflecting the intersection of popular culture and personal expression in social media. His art is not only favored by critics but has also gained wide recognition in the collecting community, representing a new generation of artists.
