Born in Inner Mongolia, Chifeng, ZHENG Lu studied in Luxun Academy of Fine Arts, China Central Academy of Fine Arts and later he finished his degree from Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris in 2006. ZHENG Lu learnt the Chinese calligraphy when he was a kid and also he got to deeply understand the origin of Chinese characters. By the time he was studying in the China Central Academy of Fine Arts, he begun to deliberate the possibility of dialogue between Chinese characters and the space. He de-constructed the form of characters and melted them into the 3D sculptures, creating his unique works which combines the Chinese philosophy and oriental esthetics.
