WU Dai-Qiu 吳待秋

Wu Zheng, sobriquet Dai-Qiu and Heng, was born in Zhejiang to the family of Wu Tao, a famous landscape painter from late Qing Dynasties. He received art education from his family with an emphasis on the Four Wangs and the Four Greatest Artist in Ming Dynasty, especially Wang Yuan-Qi. He was regarded as one of the greatest artists surnamed Wu and Feng of the Haishang School. He was admired for his Landscape, gongbi Figure, Flowers paintings, poems, calligraphy and seal carvings. He was the head of department of arts at the Shanghai Commercial Press and the Statutory auditor of the Art Association of Republic of China.
