Masaru SHICHINOHE 七戶優
Japanese 1959
Born in Amori in Japan, 1959. 1981 graduated from Musashino Art University College of Art and Design with a major in Architecture. After a three-year stint working as a designer of the architectural design department at TAISEI Corporation, he became a freelance illustrator. 1994 "Physics Discourse" solo exhibition, Tokyo, HB Gallery; 2001 "Masaru Shichinohe", Tokyo, Japan, Aoki Gallery, 2010 "TAIPEI ART FAIR" Exhibition, Taipei, Taiwan, World Trade Center ; 2010 "Black Angel - Masaru Shichinohe 20 Year Retrospective Exhibition", Taipei, Taiwan Ping Art Space. Since then his solo exhibition is held every two years, winning several prizes along the way that included the ARTBOX Grand Prize. 2000 first illustrated book, "Campanella: the mechanical boy and the magic bugle", was published. It was edited by Haruki Amanuma (novelist, German literature scholar, airship expert, and Chairman of the Japan Zeppelin Association), who put together a collection of Shichinohe's existing works and added an imaginative tale to the illustrations.
