Born in Pingtong, Taiwan, CHIU graduated from National Taiwan Normal University and she later went to New York and acquired her two FMA both in Long Island University and New York University. She died at a very young age in 1999 of illness. In her short periods of art career, she had managed to create some charcoal on paper works and some oil paintings before her death. CHIU’s works focuses on the strong contract of light in the mysterious space she created on the canvas. Through this surreal and dreamlike painting skills, she rebuilt her inner landscape onto the canvas. Her works are collected by Taipei Fine Arts Musuem and Hong-gah Museum in Taipei, Taiwan.
