Kila Cheung 章柱基
Hong Kong 1986

Born in Hong Kong in 1986, graduated from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, won the Hong Kong Young Design Talent Award in 2016, went to Japan in late 2017, since then   started woodcarving creation. Kila has lived in different countries for many years and moved many times. He has different experiences in different homes, and brings different creations. He believes that people should not be too mature, they should remain curious, have the courage to rebel, and have time to dream out of the boundary. Cactus and flowers are the common motifs in Kila's works, symbolizing two states of strength and gentleness. The two seem to be opposites, but they can coexist. Even when encountering difficulties, still gently and strong-willingly moving forward. Main solo exhibitions: "Moving Utopia" in Hong Kong in 2020, "Teens in Sunroom" in Taipei in 2019 and "Twinkle Twinkle Little Guys" in Hong Kong in 2018 etc.
