Born in 1976 in Seoul, Korea, Kwan-Young Kim is a contemporary artist bridging sculpture and painting, with an academic background from Hongik University (Seoul) and Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera (Milan). Deeply influenced by Art Informel and Willem de Kooning, Kim explores the unconscious and fading memory, inspired by personal experiences of loss. His acclaimed The Memory of the Unconscious series features meticulously layered, delicate color fields and fine, swirling lines, creating meditative spaces of healing energy. Having exhibited extensively in Asia and Europe, Kim’s work is recognized for its profound, emotional exploration of time and human consciousness.
